Plant dry matter, so-called lignocellulosic biomass, is the largest renewable biomass feedstock on Earth. Europe has several million tons of sugar residuals but these are unfortunately either incinerated or at best converted to ethanol (€0.6 /kg). iFermenter will convert these to higher value products, and will strengthen the biobased industry and promote circular economy.
