Our teams in USC just published the journal article “Process and Environmental simulation in the validation of biotechnological production of nisin from waste”, in the Biotechnological Engineering Journal, accepted 14th June 2021.
The article discusses the environmental impacts of producing antimicrobials from industrial residual stream, with the case study of the SSL we study from Borregaard. It shows a significant reduction in CO2 equivalent emissions when using the industrial residual stream instead of raw-sugar.
